Pretty fun free game. Think WWII tank sim + counterstrike.

It's World of Russian Tanks... I've been playing since last August off and on between fits of rage. If you do start up the game make sure you go Russian Heavy tree or the Medium tree. The IS-4 and the T-54 are the most overpowered tanks in the game and have been since the beginning, so I doubt the devs will change anything. (They are Russian too btw Mad )

I have noticed that the russian tanks tend to be on the better side, but you don't need the absolute best tank to win.

I'm playing with a bunch of friends and we're all scattered throughout the factions.

I've played on a friend's account using his IS4 and T54. You'd be surprised by how much easier they are to use compared to the American and German tanks. IS4 you just hold the W key down and spam the Mouse 1 button. The T54 you just run around in circles around tanks and you win. If that fails just park your tank right next to enemy and they can't hit anything but your turret (bounce!).

One step ahead. I have a portable hard drive velcro'd onto the back of my laptop. Still doesn't necessarily help.

So far WoT is pretty interesting. I didn't go Russian. Leaning toward German.

German tanks only look cool. My Tiger/King Tiger are made of paper and shoot ping pong balls. Bursting into flames every other match gets kind of old lol. American tanks are a bit of a grind to get to the good stuff. The American heavies have super uber turret armor so if you can get into a hull down position you are in god mode. I just hopped on the bandwagon and got the first Ruski heavy the KV and its really fun. Got a 122mm derp gun on it that one shots small tanks and makes German tanks cry with critical module damage.

I'm finding that the russian heavies are notoriously hard to kill, but that doesn't stop me from just artying them into submission Very Happy

Also, light tanks are a blast if you don't mind getting owned 9/10 games you play.

Yup, Ruskies are pretty hard to kill. Though, nothing a little Marder II AT fire can't solve.

Also using the Wespe for my arty. Little wide on the shots, but it does damage like a boss. I can manage to one-shot anything less than a heavily armored (or very lucky) med tank.

So, I have to ask: has anyone gone into a match either with or against a Maus(the German Tier 10 tank) yet?

Not the Maus, but I've been with and against a few IS-7s. Scary tanks indeed.

Maus is easy to kill. The dev's have ignored the armor bug where the front of the tracks have 0 armor. The driver view port also has 0 armor and you can kill the tank with a Leichtractor *yes the noob tank*. I'm not kidding, the Maus's engine are in the front so a shot goes right through the mudguards/viewport and sets the tank on fire. Same with the Tiger Ausf B with the rear mounted gun. T30 is also trash too. Yeah it's gun hurts but it has the same hull armor as the T29 which any tank can penetrate. IS7 is easier to kill than the IS4 in my opinion since the IS7 driver's go Leeroying into the middle of a blob of tanks.

The T30 is supposed to be driven like a tank destroyer with a turret. Very powerful indeed.

Hmm. Well, I'm not holding my breath, but maybe they might end up giving the beta players a little something extra. I just want them to release the client already.
