Help with Classic Army M15a4

Anyone have an experience cracking the gearbox on these CA's (or their clones) open? I ordered a new spring and have heard that it's a two man job sometimes to keep everything from flying out. I'm gonna have to open the gearbox anyway right? I haven't lubed the thing up since I bought it 4 years ago

I have wrestled a 550 fps spring into a sniper, so i can't imagine it's too terribly hard in an AEG. What spring rating did you get?

Nearly all gearboxes are 2 man jobs. Just the way of the anti-reversal latch mainly. I've opened a classic army sl9 gearbox and it wasn't so bad.

Guarder SP120? I think I'll have to check my invoice. I heard guarder springs are notoriously stiff.

I work on various version gearboxes practically every week. While a second set of hands is handy and makes it easier, I have yet to run into a gearbox you could not do by yourself(though with your inexperiance I would def suggest getting someone who has done it a time or two to help you). I would gladly help you if I was in town, but I only come up randomly on some weekends. But if you don't have it installed yet next time I come up I would be happy to put it in there for ya. What gun are you putting it into?

I bought this CA M15a4 off of ebay about 4-5 years ago. No telling how old it really is. I haven't used it that much but at the same time I have only taken it apart down to the barrel/hop up parts. I've watched plenty of videos about taking the version 2 gearbox apart, but I haven't tried yet.

If I may, get one of us to open it for you the first time, so you can see what it takes to do so. We're more than willing to help you out, just let us know.


Also, m120s are a piece of cake.

i have taken apart a V2 before, and the hardest parts are the wiring and anti-reversal latch. those are what you really need help with. rest of it just falls into place, somewhat.

hence the beauty of the V7 with external wiring...

I was hoping to get some help with it at the field, but my English teacher decided today's makeup was mandatory so I had to go. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with it. I thought I brought my toolkit with me from home, but I can't find it.

The mask I bought has okay visibility forward as long as the sun isn't in my face. A problem I do have is that I can barely aim through my red dot. It's possible but it takes me some time to get it right, which is not a good thing when I've got to pop out of cover real quick to shoot you guys. So what do you guys think I should do?

First off, I'm keeping the mask. I have my red dot already on a sight riser. I was thinking about getting a different stock that would allow me to get my mask closer or centered better. Also, a holographic sight my be better than a red dot because it should be easier for me to look through while wearing the mask. For visibility I might drill some of the holes out a little wider or even find a way to cut out the mesh and add some lenses but that might be too much trouble.

At point blank, you'll be off but you don't need to use it that close. At range you'll just have it sighted for you and it'll be just as accurate as any other red dot.
