Hey guys, I'm considering purchasing an MP5A5 to start rounding off my collection. I have several options and I was going to get your opinion.
I have owned 2 JG MP5a5's (MP5-J) and I loved them. They shot really well and were really reliable. There are a few left on the market (they were discontinued due to UMAREX lawsuits).
The bodies on those mp5's where not the greatest, but they performed well. I'm a real stickler for nice bodies on airsoft guns (CaptKirby can tell you). That's mostly because I don't feel like I can go full steam ahead through the woods without breaking a poorly made gun, and going full steam is how to do well in most airsoft games. One company which has good performance and good bodies on airsoft guns is G&G. They seem to be built really solidly. I found one which is non-blowback (I hate the pneumatic blowback mechanisms), but they have done something funky with the battery.

Maybe so. I'll have to look more into them. I hear nothing but praise about their externals, but that mechanical 3 round burst..... that could get sticky when it breaks.

I hear you, all that metal bouncing around in a gearbox would not be a happy occasion.

Yeah and it looks from the views that the gears are proprietary and so are those flimsy looking 3 round burst latches. I'll see if I can order an extra set just in case.
